Sam Kennedy is the President and CEO of the Boston Red Sox Major League Baseball team. He was born on February 13, 1973, in Brookline, Massachusetts and grew up as a Red Sox fan. He began his career in sports management as an intern for the Red Sox in 1995 and eventually worked his way up to become Vice President of Corporate Sales and Marketing for the team.
In 2015, Kennedy was named President of the Red Sox, succeeding Larry Lucchino. As President, Kennedy oversees all aspects of the organization, including baseball operations, marketing, sales, and finance. He has been credited with spearheading the team's efforts to engage with fans through various initiatives, such as charity work, community outreach, and social media campaigns.
Kennedy is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Jimmy Fund, a pediatric cancer charity that has been supported by the Red Sox for decades. In 2018, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
